Perfect Bike Rack for our Suzuki Vitara

We've needed a new bike rack for a while but finally found the time yesterday to investigate the options and today to problem solve the issues! 

Car: Suzuki Vitara with tow hitch

We bought the "stick up" Yakima rack,  because we were concerned our car wouldn't have enough ground clearance. This rack definately elevated the bikes well!

It was also relatively easy to assemble.

But we found the bikes were mounted far too close to the car especially the rear window which made it difficult to load the bikes and we worried about potential damage to the car when loading bikes or when driving on rough roads. 

So we popped to Parkside Towbars and bought a tow hitch extender that solved the problem.

We are confident this is the best option for us right now and hopeful that it'll suit any future car! 

So now we're all set! Stay tuned,  we will fully test it Thursday when we next cycle.
