Wildflowers Walk
Yesterday was a rainy day so we decided to go for a scenic drive and do a wildflower walk at Crooked Brook near Dardenup. The bush was fabulously colourful everywhere we looked with a vast array of wildflowers.
It's the first week of Spring here in Western Australia so the timing was perfect.
There was steady light rain during our 1.6km walk but we had umbrellas and enjoyed the walk.
Unfortunately I'm back in the medical boot. It's 8 months since I started having issues with my left foot and ankle. I wore the boot most of January, February and have used crutches occasionally ever since. I've never felt that it was 100% better. It did improve significantly in May/June when I got custom orthotic insoles but I've had constant pain for 8 months and it is worse in the evenings after busy days.
I'm a bit heartbroken to be back at square one and back in the medical boot. Especially since the timing sucks. Hubby just retired on Thursday and we have lots of active outdoor recreation planned.
But maybe 6 more weeks in the boot to allow the torn connective tissue to repair itself might prevent me needing surgery, so it's worth a try.
I've cried tears of anger and frustration in the last 24hrs but I know the medical boot will actually give me more freedom to move pain free and enjoy my life, I just need to adapt to the new normal again.
