Retirement Begins Now
This afternoon hubby finishes work and officially retires! That's why I didn't seek a new job once we repatriated to Australia in January. We knew the company he worked for was likely to indefinitely delay the major project he's worked on for 8 years. They did do that in April and hubby opted to retire rather than begin working on a new project. So HR has finally completed their part of the process and today is his official last day after 12+ years with the company.
So this evening we'll be celebrating early retirement!
We want to focus on getting daily exercise through outdoor recreation:
- Walking
- Hiking
- Cycling
- Mountain Biking
- Kayaking
- Snorkeling
- Aquarobrics
- Pickleball
- Yoga
- Swimming
- Dog walking
- Golf
We also enjoy and will indulge our love of:
- Perth's food culture and will frequent fabulous cafes, bakeries and patisseries
- Scenic drives within about 3hrs of home
- Coastal lifestyle of our chosen retirement location
This evening we're going to the beach for sunset.
Tomorrow we'll decide what to do based on the weather in the morning as showers are forecast.
Through September we have hubby Matt's dad who has dementia visiting so we can look after him whilst Matt's mum is in Europe. So September will be a little different to our eventual routine but still packed with outdoor recreation and exercise to begin our life of freedom from the worker lifestyle.
