Yoga Wheel Back Bend!

Today I did a full back bend on my yoga wheel for the first time in a long time!

From early September 2022, until late January 2023 my yoga wheel was in a shipping container bound for Australia and we were living in temporary accommodations so I wasn't able to do my yoga wheel practice. I also didn't even unpack the gym boxes until March because I had to focus on kitchen, bedroom and living room unpacking. It's amazing how quickly I lost that bendy ability. 

I also think the concrete slab this home is built on and all the hard flooring is contributing to joint issues such as the spinal compression that's made me significantly stiffer than I should be. I spent three months unpacking for 8 to 12hrs a day, mostly whilst standing. Even anti fatigue mats can only help a little. 

So since I have finally been able to get back to regular yoga practice with my yoga wheel I've been keen to increase my back bend ability and work towards again being able to do a full back bend on the wheel. 

So I'm pretty excited that I've finally reached this point. I have a long way to go to get back to my previous level of flexibility and mobility, but I'm getting there. Here's a photo that shows the back bend from the side:
I can see that my bend isn't as deep as it used to be and I'm not as easily able to achieve this as I used to, so I'll keep working on this regularly, I look forward to a time when I can do it with the same ease I used to. 
I did 75 mins of yoga today focused on core strength, hip flexor strength and flexibility.
