Recovery Exercise Ideas
If you've ever injured any part of your leg; ankle, knee or foot you'll know it's a difficult recovery.
After an initial phase of rest/ice/elevate and any treatments medically required you eventually have to get back to exercise to help build strength and aid recovery. I injured my left foot/ankle in December/January so I've been slowly getting back to active the last week or two. Here are some ideas for exercise that isn't as weight bearing as walking:
- Cycling
- Swimming
- Aqua aerobics
- Yoga - seated, kneeling, prone and supine poses especially
- Chair yoga I have a video on my YouTube channel
The autumn weather is a little cool here for water based exercise so I'm focused on cycling and yoga ATM. Today we rode to the beach.
It was a terrific ride to the coast then along the foreshore.Such a great workout!
