Halfway
I'm halfway to the Trevor Project's 51 mile target for Pride Ride 2022!
Why 51 miles in June? Because it's the 51st anniversary of Pride Month! I'm trying to ride most days and I'm planning to do more than 51 miles this month.Today I was feeling a little under the weather so I chose the flattest route possible in our hilly neighborhood.
I'm happy with my progress so far and I'm looking forward to the future rides that will get me to the goal.
We live in a fantastic neighborhood for cycling with plenty of paths and they are nice and quiet on weekdays 😀🚴♀️🏳️🌈
I also had my annual physical this morning.
Due to drastically worsening allergies the last few years, I discussed Mast Cell Activation Syndrome with my Dr, it's basically a condition causing you're body to be hyperactive to allergens. We agreed it's a possible cause for my ongoing fatigue, frequent swelling around my chin/neck and armpits and fairly extreme allergy episodes. Rather than pursue an official diagnosis I decided to self treat using OTC antihistamines which is one of the treatment protocols for those diagnosed with MCAS. So I stocked up on my preferred antihistamine and will begin taking it daily. Due to my hypermobility spectrum disorder I'm at increased risk for both MCAS & POTS but I truly hate the diagnostic process and prefer to self treat as much as possible and just adapt to my actual circumstances. I'm not sure who created this graphic originally but it's a great way to demonstrate how these three diagnoses create a triad of symptoms that overlap:
