Today I tried a new physical therapy place. Last month I saw a different one and hated it, so it's taken me a while to be ready to try again. But I saw my primary care physician to get her opinion and she suggested Proactive Physical Therapy. I called this morning to make an appt and they had a cancellation so they fitted me in within hours of calling!
Overall the experience was tons better than the other place I tried and I feel like the treatment plan will be helpful.
1. Dry needling - was my first time trying it so we'll see how that goes...
2. Three reasonably gentle exercises to complete three times daily
3. Interestingly the one yoga pose that most concerned him and he said to stop doing was the 'Figure 4 Fold' so I won't be doing that four a while!
4. Twice weekly appointments for two to three weeks
I did feel better afterwards and enjoyed my afternoon dog walk more than I had been lately as my pain was less, but we will see how I feel tomorrow morning...
I also have another referral to book an initial appt for in the coming weeks, that referral is for a rehab and pain management place that will hopefully help with longer term injury prevention due to my 2021 hypermobility spectrum disorder diagnosis.
