Strength Training Intervals
Winter is a great time to revamp your workout regimen! It breaks the indoor workout boredom!
Today I created a cardio & strength training workout program for myself:
It consists of 40mins of interval training.
30 secs low impact cardio then 30 seconds strength training.
I even created an MP3 file that is just my voice saying "change" every 30 secs so I don't need to look at the clock! Every 5 mins there is a 30 sec rest so I can allow my heart beat to slow back down a little. There is 5 mins of this interval timer available free to download on my website. (After I recorded this I used a free audio merger app on my cell phone to repeat this 8 times in one MP3 file so I have a 40 min workout interval timer but that file is too big to share so you'll need to merge it yourself if you want to use it on repeat)
I also recorded a video showing some of the low impact cardio moves I do in between strength sets.
I am planning to do this about once or twice a week a week through winter. I did this workout today and certainly worked up a sweat!
It is sufficiently hard work that is for sure!
