Today I recorded in time lapse the seated poses that I begin my daily yoga practice with:
I tend to design sequences that start with seated poses:
- Seated (easy seated warm ups)
- Kneeling
- Standing
- Prone (pigeon, locust, bow etc)
- Standing
- Seated (more strenuous seated poses such as boat)
- Supine
This works for me. Traditional classes often start with standing poses and sun salutations. I prefer to warm up slowly with seated and kneeling poses.
I usually do 7mins of Feet Up inversion before I start my floor yoga too.
You know what really excites me? Finding good fitting, comfortable workout clothes! It's coming into the cooler months and I desperately needed some new sweat/yoga pants. The ones I bought in Spring were by Gaiam and I got them from Kohl's but I didn't like their winter styles after trying on about 4 pairs. So I went to Walmart and tried on about 4 pairs there too and I loved their cotton leggings and cotton joggers! So I bought several pairs of each from Walmart.com and they are terrific!

Both styles are ankle length, have pockets and are comfortable in any yoga pose for less than $13 a pair + tax. As a post menopausal woman I love when I can find clothes with a high cotton content, they are getting hard to find in the workout clothing industry! I did buy a size up from my usual size to allow for some natural shrinkage that happens with cotton when washed and tumble dried.
