6 Inexpensive Home Fitness Must Haves

I love working out at home or outdoors in my neighborhood, I'm not a fan of gyms. I know that many people share my preference! So I thought I'd share MY six favorite resources for working out at home!

1. Great footwear for high impact activities such as running/jump rope. My favorite brand is Puma: https://us.puma.com/us/en/home they are cheaper than many other brands and suit my foot shape, but every foot is different, find what works for you.

2. A jump rope is a great piece of fitness equipment if you can manage the medium/high impact! They are inexpensive starting from about $5

3. A basic yoga mat only cost about $7 on Amazon these days and it's worthwhile especially if you have hard flooring! You don't have to use it just for yoga! They are great for any pose/move where you need some added floor grip. If you are looking for a slightly better mat, I use one by Gaiam that retails for about $20 and it's excellent.

4. My yoga wheel has become my favorite tool for doing situps! Check out my YouTube video where I show you how I do yoga wheel situps then I transition into a full back bend once my muscles are warmed up. These retail for about $20 and are much easier to store than a sit up bench!

5. Resistance bands are also inexpensive I bought a set of five last year for less than $20. They are great for working arms/wrists and building strength.

6. YouTube! This is free and has an amazing amount of workout and fitness videos to suit anyone's interests!
I love this video by Anita Goa:

This list obviously suits my purposes but you must consider what works for you and your workout style and preferences.

Extra stuff I love in my home fitness studio:

7. Dumbbells in a variety of weights from 5lbs to 15 or 25lbs

8. A cycle trainer to mount my bike on for indoor cycling workouts.

9. SOFT foam roller for yoga

10. Yoga blocks and a yoga strap
