Colorados Best Kayaking

We've been on the hunt for Colorados best kayaking destinations within 2hrs drive of our home in Parker. Today we tried Gross Reservoir and it became our favorite so far:

It's a large reservoir with plenty of space to explore.
We kayaked to the end of one 'arm' and saw the water coming in off the rapids which was pretty cool!.
It was breezy at the launch point but very calm in some other areas.
We kayaked for about an hour, it's a great workout:
We used the row app on our smart watches for the first time and loved the data:

It was almost 100*f today but felt cooler on the water.
We adore our Oru kayaks they are perfect for us.
I just love that we've added this new concept to our outdoor recreation fun this year!
So far we've loved:

Tarryall Reservoir

Gross Reservoir

We didn't enjoy Hess Rueter reservoir and won't go back there because of the foot deep mud at the launch point.

Still on the Front Range list to try are:

  • Skaguay Reservoir (near Victor)
  • Rampart Reservoir
We also want to get up into the mountains for a long weekend and try:
  • Continental reservoir
  • Rio Grande Reservoir
