Body Care Day

Yesterday was a rough day, I was recovering from a nasty migraine Sunday afternoon! 

Monday is usually my "rest day", my muscles have been working hard lately and really need a day off each week but on rest days I usually still walk my dogs. 

I didn't even feel up to walking though yesterday and it was cold outside so I spent 15 mins in my home gym doing stretches, plank and one minute of yoga inversion on the feet up trainer.

Instead of "rest day" as the mainstream fitness industry calls it, I've decided to think of it as "Body Care Day". People with chronic illnesses particularly are walking a constant tightrope of trying to balance fitness goals with the limitations that their illness can impose. So "body care days" aren't lazy or a sign of inconsistency they are a necessary self management tool!
