Goal Reset

We've just spent 5 weeks caring for my husband's dad who has dementia whilst his wife was in Europe.  Between that and his parents 3.5 week visit in May it has been 61 days (two whole months) of in-laws visiting since we arrived in Australia,  which is a quarter of our time since repatriating to Australia in late January.  It's been quite frustrating actually; his mum has totally failed to understand how complex the past 12 months of our life have been and has had expectations beyond the ridiculous.  I'm setting firm boundaries from here on in.

But... Yesterday my father inlaw was flewn home to the east coast.

So, we're finally going to settle in to our retiree life! (Hubby retired in September two days before his dad arrived).

I have a ruptured plantar fascia so our regular routine will have to work around that until it recovers. Therefore my wheelchair will feature a lot in our exercise and activity regimen for now.

Here's the plan:
Monday and Thursday we'll choose a location to go for a stroll (hubby) and roll (me) so that will be a wheelchair friendly location and once a week we will try to include an outdoor gym location into that as well so we can do some strength training along the way.
It's also fantastic weather this time of year for kayaking! Yay it'll be so great to finally get back on the water!
Hubby will golf once a week but I'll just tag along to drive the cart and practice my putting by playing the greens ONLY to minimise walking and standing (I will wear my medical boot).
And our local outdoor pool opened last week so we'll start weekly aquarobrics!
We'll still do yoga at Wells Park each week but I'll focus on seated,  kneeling, prone and supine poses.
That's the current plan and obviously I'll have to see what my Dr says on Wednesday when I see her again but it's exciting to be future planning again.
