Exercise doesn't have to be contrived!

Sometimes I "workout" but other times I get my exercise in the garden.  Today was a mix of activity but as you'll see later in the post it was an effective way to burn calories!

I've been unwell this past week but I'm finally starting to feel better,  so today we went for a morning stroll and roll at Manning Lake:

It's a great size lake for a new ambulatory wheelchair user like me!
It's a great workout! Wheelchair users are working very hard when they self propel!
Hubby had to push me briefly in a few places because the old parts of the path are quite sloping for drainage which makes self propelling much more difficult.  
But I probably self propelled a kilometre of the total 1.5k.!
Then once we got home we got into the back garden and cut down an invasive vine in the back corner that had been bothering us for months!
It was strenuous work and the day was quite warm so we were thankful for the part shade!
You can see from my heart rate chart that I certainly got enough exercise today!
Hubby was working so hard he even broke the hoe!
So remember gardening is great exercise!
Exercise doesn't have to be a contrived gym session to ensure you build strength and burn calories.
