Coming back from injury and illness!

It's really hard to find your groove again with a health and wellness regimen if you've had an extended injury/illness or difficult life circumstances that interrupt your routine.
But remember:
I've got plantar fasciitis and probably some tendon damage in my left foot/ankle. It makes walking and most structured exercise difficult most days. I'm also still getting settled into our new life after an international move from the USA to Australia. So I've been finding exercise difficult to fit in.

Three tips to help you when you are struggling to begin a new regimen or restart an old one:

  1. Start small - five or ten minutes
  2. Aim for daily activity at or around the same time each day
  3. Lower the intensity - ease into things to reduce chance of injury

My current strategy is cycling daily.

Cycling is the best exercise for me ATM that doesn't hurt my foot and I'm going to try to do a short daily ride at least five days a week. Here's the details of today's activity:
It was just a leisurely ride around our suburban streets close to home.

Not intense or difficult, just basic movement.
Just getting back into a routine is the goal ATM. I won't build the intensity until I've gotten into the rhythm of the new routine.
