5 Healthy Tips for Thanksgiving
Consider these 5 Healthy Tips for Thanksgiving:
- Add vegetables where you can when cooking to increase the health benefits of the food consumed.
- Get some exercise in the morning and afternoon - a walk will do, or ten minutes of yoga!
- Hydrate. It's easy to get carried away with all the eating and fun family gatherings and forget to drink your daily water. Aim for at least 32oz.
- Use smaller plates to help ensure portion control is easier to manage.
- Be aware how much alcohol you are consuming as the day progresses!
I made a turkey pie to take to my son's house, I included vegetables in it to maximize the nutrition value of the yummy pie.
The pie has onion, bell pepper, beans, corn and carrots in the turkey gravy based filling in addition to all that turkey and gravy!
But remember it's okay to eat whatever you want on special occasions! Don't go crazy counting calories or limiting yourself with foods you love. But don't eat food you don't enjoy those are wasted calories 🤪😂
