Real Life & Steps Towards Progress
Sometimes life is just about survival.
Biding your time until you feel better, stronger, more able to participate.
Lots of emotional stress lately and now I'm having a gastrointestinal flare up.
Exhausted.
Frustrated.
But when you feel like this, what's a step/s you can take to feel positive momentum:
- Eating & drinking healthy - this is a vital part of your physical survival/recovery. It's something you can control that will help you feel empowered.
- Vitamin D - get some sunshine and fresh air, even if that is just sitting in a comfortable chair outside.
- Set and review goals - by hitting the reset button you empower yourself.
- Meditate to soothe your mind
- Exercise - just some easy floor stretches or a short walk is enough to make you feel like you've done something for your body.
- Take a long warm bath to soothe your nervous system
- Put on a favorite outfit rather than staying in pajamas or sweat pants all day.
- Read a motivational book
- Do one simple household task that's been on your to-do list. Just a quick thing like tidying up your desk, folding washing or cleaning the toilet. Feel like progress is made even if it's one step at a time.
Your body needs you right now. Your body needs understanding. Your mind is cluttered and strained. Give yourself some grace.
Today I did enjoy my short, slow wander in our neighborhood:
The sunshine, fresh air and immersion in nature did soothe my soul.I also did a few small work tasks on the computer and spent lots of time resting on the couch.
