Physical Therapy

I was referred for physical therapy when I was diagnosed with a joint hypermobility spectrum disorder in December. Today was my first appt.
It will also be my last. I was not impressed with Select Physical Therapy in Parker, Colorado. Why?
  1. The lady never introduced herself, I still don't know her name.
  2. She wanted to work on one or two problem areas. F#@* that! Every joint is a problem, I told her I was referred to get general help in future injury prevention. But obviously that doesn't suit her limited expertise and experience (she wasn't young so her limited range isn't understandable)
  3. Despite one hour doing exercises specific to two joints (ankle and hip - because she made me choose FFS) I wasn't given any advice on future injury prevention and she still expected me to book twice weekly appointments moving forward.
  4. She called me Marlene for most of the appointment only realizing in the last ten minutes my name was actually Marianne.
  5. The exercises I actually did with her took maybe 10 minutes total, but she kept disappearing back to her computer for 5 mins everytime she told me to do 20 reps (which took about 1 min), so she wasted tons of time and billed me and my health insurance for it.
  6. She never even asked what my regular exercise routine was before assigning me exercises. For all she knew it was stuff I was already doing! And some actually was.
Unfortunately this is exactly what I expected, an utter waste of time.
But I made the most of the rest of my day today and will continue to self manage my joint issues with an at home exercise regimen like I have for many years now.
I did 7 mins Feet Up inversion today:
20 mins yoga, 20 min dog walk, 20 mins of cardio and strength training intervals.
