Colorado Kayaking Fun
We bought kayaks earlier this year and since then have been on the search for a favorite kayaking spot within 2hrs drive of home.
Today we tested out our favorite location Tarryall reservoir and it was truly fabulous. We kayaked for about an hour, it was breezy but fabulous! We loved our chosen launch point it was relatively private and we chose a small sandy shoreline that's perfect for launch. The reservoir is just the right size for us.
Our two origami kayaks were great.
The launch point was great for an after paddling picnic! With our feet in the water!
These Oru Kayaks fold up quite small to fit in your average car trunk.
Mine is the Beach which is a large stable well balanced model for my 240lbs. I can even carry it fairly easily from the car to the launch point and back:
It fits well in the trunk of our Audi A3 with the seats laid down:
Hubby has the Inlet model which is smaller and folds up small enough to lay across the folded down back seats of the A3 (he's 50lbs lighter than me so has the smaller model of kayak)
So we can fit two origami kayaks in the A3 which is a relatively small car! They are fabulous inventions!
So once again outdoor recreation wins out in the favorite exercise activities battle 😂
