Meditation Monday

Mondays are a great time to hit reset and focus the mind! I'm about halfway through my 100hr meditation teacher training. I'm more focused on my progress with meditation practice than ever thanks to a free app called Medito. I highly recommend it if you have an interest in learning meditation or becoming a more disciplined meditation practitioner.
I use it daily because none of the meditation techniques introduced during my 100hr Yogamu meditation teacher training so far have really suited my meditation style.
Even though I'm less than impressed with Yogamu, I'm still finding ways to further my meditation journey whilst persevering with the online MTT in hopes that some of the learning will be inspiring.
This past week in Yogamu MTT we learned about sitting asana poses that are appropriate for meditation. About half of them I couldn't do because you pretty much have to be a contortionist!
But I did try each of them.
These are the ones I was capable of:
Basic kneeling I don't consider comfortable enough for long meditations!

I hate cow face pose, it's not comfortable for plus size bodies!

I would NEVER meditate in a forward bend position! Totally impractical!

This was my favorite! The toes on that upper foot are tucked into the knee crease.

Kneeling with legs crossed underneath was another supremely uncomfortable pose for plus size bodies!

And the old faithful with souls of feet touching in a butterfly pose this is a great option!
Here is a visual summary with the Sanskrit names:

The top three are my favorites.

But it's also okay to just meditate on a chair or I personally prefer a supine/reclining pose such as supported fish pose:
